Nicholas “Icefireide” Hall · Los Angeles

I produce esports broadcasts, and build the software they run on.

Collegiate and grassroots leagues, tournaments and finals weekends. I produce, direct, run replay and observe, and I build the graphics tools so a small crew can get a lot more on screen.

Overlays, draft and map-ban displays, control panels. Each one started because a show needed it, and most of them have run every season since. Every shot is off the actual tool.

About

I’m an esports producer and technical director. Most of my work is collegiate and sub-tier-2: leagues, tournaments and finals weekends where the crew is small, so the producer is also directing and fixing whatever breaks while the show is live.

I also build the software my shows run on. Graphics control, draft and map-ban displays, roster and stats overlays pulled out of the game’s API. I build them around how the show actually runs, and I make sure one person can drive them mid-broadcast, because most of the time that person is me. It’s the part of the job I enjoy most.

Right now I’m producing overnight English-language LPL coverage, plus collegiate Valorant, League and Rocket League. I’m in the Los Angeles area, remote by default, and I want to do more on-site work.
